Fr. Jeff Poirot

Fr. Jeff grew up in Denton, Texas, and, feeling a call by God to the priesthood since he was in 5th grade, went straight into seminary after high school. Following seminary in Columbus, Ohio at the Pontifical College Josephinum as well as in Houston, Texas at Saint Mary’s Seminary, he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on May 26, 2001. After almost 18 years of ministry in parishes small and large, he left active ministry and became a professional brewer in Fort Worth.

During that time period, he and Jean began dating. Jean grew up in a small farming community called New Berlin which is close to Cooperstown, New York. She became an RN and later a Nurse Anesthetist. Jean worked in anesthesia in Portland, Oregon and Fort Worth where she got her Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice at Texas Wesleyan University. After dating a couple of years, Fr. Jeff and Jean were married in 2020 at St. John’s Anglican Church, where they had been attending.

In 2023 Fr. Jeff began his journey to be received as an Anglican priest. In December of that year he was received by Bishop Reed as a priest of our Diocese. Since that time, he has been helping out at a number of parishes across the Diocese. In their free time, Fr. Jeff and Jean love to travel, cook, brew beer, and walk their 95 pound Old English Sheepdog, Molly.

Fr. Jeff and Jean are excited to be a part of Holy Apostles and look forward to not only getting to know everyone in the parish, but also to welcoming new parishioners to be a part of a wonderful and friendly community of faith.
