Currently our outreach efforts are three-fold. 1) We raise funds to distribute. 2) We collect goods to distribute. 3) We engage in hands-on projects.

Enchiladas anyone?

We raise funds. Once again we will be holding our annual Whole Enchilada Dinner on Friday, February 10th. The food is provided to us by the Jubilee Trailhouse Restaurant in Aledo. Parishioners sell tickets. The proceeds from the dinner will go to help our Anglican brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Northern Malawi. In late May we will hold our annual Fish Fry. This project works much the same as the Enchilada Dinner. The food is donated. We sell tickets and the proceeds go to scholarship kids to camp.

We collect goods to distribute. We keep a basket in the narthex of the church. Each month, we are asked to bring a specific item. It may be canned food, peanut butter, toiletries, etc. The basket is brought forward along with the collection at the Offertory of the 10 o'clock service. This June, as we did back in anticipation of the Fourth of July we will also be gathering care packages for our soldiers in dangerous places overseas.

We engage in hands-on projects. This past year we helped serve the Agape Meal at Broadway Baptist Church. We raised funds and walked in the annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk for the Cure. We have plans to assist with Habitat for Humanity and perhaps, the Union Gospel Mission. Our youth group will be doing a workday at the Samaritan House.
